The High Falls hike was my first with the Vancouver branch of the Alpine Club of Canada.
This hike starts north of Squamish, up the Paradise Valley road. The hike up takes you by a stream and it waterfalls as tumbles down the mountain. There's a nice bit or two by the waterfalls, but not a huge amount of views. This section is has some steep rocky sections and the trail gets close to the river side at times, but the exposure isn't that bad.
There's a nice lookout back down the valley as the trail climbs. You can cut across to the logging road to shorten the hike. We carried up along the creek, before heading across a boulder field and up to the road. The logging road on the way down is consistent and straightforward, but does give you a lovely view up the valley at one point.
A nice hike with lovely people that took a few hours and it meant I got to know some more people at the Alpine Club.
