March photos

June 04, 2026

Here's a collection of some of best photos from March. We were in New Zealand in March and headed over to Australia at the end.

Notable is that were present for the Blood Moon and golly do I wish I'd had a tripod for that. Holding a camera with 2kg 200-800mm lens up at the right angle to capture the moon and keep it steady for a slow shutter speed... is hard. Most of my pictures of it are blurry.

Blood Moon

Canon EOS R7 • Canon RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM
ISO: 400 • Aperture: 11.0 • Shutter speed: 1

Canon EOS R7 • RF50mm F1.8 STM
ISO: 100 • Aperture: 4.0 • Shutter speed: 1/400

Sunset from Motuaru Hut

Canon EOS R7 • RF50mm F1.8 STM
ISO: 100 • Aperture: 5.0 • Shutter speed: 1/500

Canon EOS R7 • RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM
ISO: 640 • Aperture: 9.0 • Shutter speed: 1/800

Crow

Canon EOS R7 • RF200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM
ISO: 320 • Aperture: 9.0 • Shutter speed: 1/160

Honestly I've got so many photos in March, it's a bit ridiculous. New Zealand and Australia are so amazing in landscape and wildlife.
